As we fully reopen on our main lake this weekend, after our summer break, it’s time for a little catch-up. Where did we get to?…..
BelleVue Lake & Lodge
8th - 15th August
This week we welcomed a new family to BelleVue, ‘The Merritts’.
During the 5th round of France’s blistering heatwaves, Glenn and the gang managed to bank 14 fish to 39lb, including one of our stunning zip linear’s which weighed in at 35lb 8oz.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub, and on one of the slightly cooler days, not by much, Glenn ensured he kept everyone happy by loading the gang into the car and heading to nearby Cobac Theme & Water Park, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Nice one Dad!!
A little quote written in our log book read, ‘The whole week was incredible, and we can’t wait for our next visit’.
We will be seeing Glenn and Co. again in 2028.
15th - 22nd August
This week saw the return of one of our regular families to BelleVue, ‘The Williams’.
This being their fifth visit to BelleVue, Mark, Kerry & the boys are almost part of the fixtures and fittings, and we love welcoming them back.
Within half an hour of his rods being in the lake, Mark was rewarded with a 44lb 15oz mirror, a new PB! What a great start to the week. These were very quickly followed by a 42lb 5oz, new PB Common, along with a 40lb 10oz PB Grassie. In total, Mark banked 12 fish.
Mark & Kerry are booked well in advance for the next 3 years, as far as our calendar currently stretches.
What started as them bagging a cancellation week, back in 2022, has led to a great friendship and us looking forward to seeing them every year.
Main Lake 9th - 14th August
Over on the Main Lake, during the period 9th - 14th August, we enjoyed the company of 4 great lads who have also become firm friends and regulars to Marolles. Affectionately known by us as ‘The Southampton Lads’, Karl, Adam, Jamie & Shane, came bearing gifts of Draught Guinness and Cadbury’s Chocolate Buttons, always a welcome sight. Thank you guys; they were very much appreciated.
The highlight for us was spending time on the bank enjoying great company, excellent food prepped by Chef Adam, good wine and entertainment provided by Karl, which we shall not go into except for saying, ‘we have not belly laughed so much in a long, long time’.
During their short and very hot stay, the guys banked 11 fish between them, but more importantly managed to chill out and take a break. Always a pleasure to see these guys, and we look forward to seeing them again next summer.

On BelleVue, we have just two weeks available in 2027, ten weeks in 2028 and our regulars are grabbing their weeks for 2029. Over on our Main Lake, we have 12 weeks remaining for 2027 and are beginning to take bookings for 2028.
