A big hello from Etang Marolles!!
Here at Marolles, a couple of years ago, we decided to begin closing our main lake during the warmer months to rest the lake and enable us to enjoy the beautiful surroundings we are lucky to live in. This year, with the intense heat we have endured, this became a blessing as we were able to fully concentrate on the welfare of our fish. We are pleased to report that after many sleepless nights, monitoring dissolved oxygen levels across the complex, ensuring aerators stayed fully operational and dealing with other anomalies that come with extreme weather changes, all is well.
Our last update included the new lake record mirror at a stunning 59lb. During the same week, the lads accounted for a further 14 fish, including another new 50lb+ common for the lake 4 x 40’s up to 49lb 12oz, and 9 x 30’s to 39lb. A good week in tough conditions and high temps.
We have opened the main lake for the next two weeks to accommodate two of our regular groups who, this year, are only able to make it over during the summer. This week has certainly kicked off in style with the first 12 hours fishing producing 9 fish! This includes 4 x 40’s to 45lb and some lovely upper 30’s. More to follow.
BelleVue
We continue to operate Bellevue for a full season on account of this lake catering for a different style of holiday. Our guests enjoy the lake, the grounds and the wonderful facilities Bellevue has to offer, hot tub, air conditioning, etc and also spend time taking in some of the sights, going out for dinner and visiting waterparks or other attractions around the area. The lake and its residents get a break most weeks from angling pressure.
Given some of the extreme weather conditions we have experienced this year, the lake has continued to produce fish. Some weeks have been understandably more challenging than others, but on the whole, some excellent results for guests and some wonderful memories have been made.
Below are pictures of some of the entries from our Bellevue customer log book taken during the summer period.
